Holly and Dave married at Sweet Berry Farm in Rhode Island earlier this month, during the weekend of hurricane Joaquin! It may have been a good bit windy, but the rain held out and we were able to grab some of my absolute favorite images of this wedding season out in the orchard at the farm! Holly and Dave were so laid back and such a joy to work with. Here is what they had to say about their big day.
Q- What was your inspiration behind your wedding? A- Above all else, we wanted a warm, intimate and rustic feeling. We ate, drank and enjoyed the evening with our closest friends and family!
Q- What detail did you love or treasure the most about your wedding? A- We liked that our food and dessert weren’t typical for a wedding. It was what we really wanted and was a huge hit!” (Holly and Dave had a super yummy BBQ spread with sirloin tips, BBQ pulled pork, corn bread, mac and cheese, and all of the other amazing fixings that go with great BBQ! For dessert, they served an assortment of Gregg’s cakes! It was perfection!)
Q- Would you change anything if you could? A- Holly would have just worn flats the whole day 🙂 and we would have preferred 75 and sunny rather than hurricane Joaquin! Otherwise, no!
Despite the fact that hurricane Joaquin was showing off a bit during Holly and Dave’s wedding, we had the most amazing overcast sky and I absolutely adore these shots that we grabbed in the orchard! Thankful for brave brides who are willing to brave the chilly conditions for an amazing shot! 🙂 Holy and Dave were the best!
Q- If you could pick one moment from your entire day to be your favorite, what would it be? Dave said- “The moments leading up to walking to the alter and then waiting for Holly was the most anticipation I’ll ever experience in my life. But the moment I saw her instantly became the best part of my entire life.” Holly says, “Our first dance because we weren’t nervous anymore and I had been looking forward to that feeling!”
Q- What advice would you offer to our future brides and grooms? A- Stick with gut feelings about what you really want. Don’t change details just to conform to what others may want. Your own personal touches will be what people will remember most!
