Christine and Ryan are gorgeous inside and out and have a fabulous sense of style. Their wedding at Linden Place this past November was full of details a photographer could only dream of photographing. And that cake? As a former Food Network’s “Cake Wars” winner, our bride Christine created one stunning display followed by some seriously delicious pie all wrapped up for guests to take home, complete with a spoon. I have so much to share!
Q- What was your inspiration behind your wedding? A- I’m not the cookie cutter type gal, so it was super important to me to capture a theme completely unique. I wanted the ambiance to feel vintage romance but with a twist of my personal style- we called it Marie Antoinette. Linden Place was the perfect historic venue to host and our florist brought it all to life. We had vintage lace table runners, deer antlers in the bouquets, floating centerpieces hanging from an open beam sealing and our head table was unforgettable. We sat at a farm table in front of the fire place, scattered winter flowers by our hands and a four foot moose skull mounted above our heads. But let’s not forget the cake, for it was she who said “let them eat cake.” It stood just over three feet tall with hand painted gold filigree, carved shell cameos, gorgeous sugar flowers and a tier cut out into a ballroom with a lit chandelier and Marie herself painted on the wall. It was our dream wedding come true.
Christine designed these invitations herself. They were made out of wildflower seed and could actually be planted in the ground!
Q- What detail did you love or treasure the most about your wedding? A- Ryan and I were given the bands each of our grandparents wore on their wedding day. Each have a uniquely touching story that means a whole lot to us, so we’ll forever treasure the moment each of us wore them for the first time together.
The florals…. looooooovveeee!!!
Q- If you could pick one moment from your entire day to be your favorite, what would it be?
A- There’s something about that feeling when you’re walking down a crushed stone pathway (in your brand new Badgley Mishkas) and you see for the first time all of the people who mean the most to you gathered together. You know that butterfly “all eyes on you” feeling- yeah that one. It’s hard to pick a favorite moment that compares to the love you feel from 150 people and that man you’re walking towards at the end of the aisle.

Q- What advice would you offer to our future brides and grooms? A- You’re going to hear from everyone, and I quote “it is going to go by SO fast so make sure you enjoy it,” but I’m not going to tell you that. You’re going to enjoy every second of that day so soak it up buttercup! There is one moment in your night that will mean the most, and my dearest friend lent me the same advice. While your guests are busy eating and laughing and enjoying the night, grab your husband or wife and look around. Take in that moment- your embrace, the ambiance, the smiles.. because it’s yours, and that feeling you will never EVER forget.
