Deniz and Mike are both lawyers and two of the classiest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Their wedding was a dream to photograph with gorgeous tall vases of flowing greens at the reception with various mismatched floral vases below, beautiful linens and patterns, and the most breathtaking sunset ceremony following our first look at The Elms. While we have done many weddings at the Oceancliff, this one was particularly memorable with cocktail hour happening in the Safari Room tent, providing such stunning views to guests overlooking the ocean! The ceremony also took pace just moments before sunset. While this isn’t always a possibility depending on the time of year a couple gets married, Deniz and Mike planned their ceremony at just the right time on purpose and even used the inspiration of the sunset sky and soft colors surrounding the scene as inspiration for everything else! So much to love below!!
Deniz and Mike had their first look at The Elms. It was perfection. I don’t even know how I possibly narrowed down my favorites to what you are about to see, because it was all sorts of levels of amazing. A completely gorgeous picture hour, with beautiful people who were so darn excited to be getting married and had the most infectious smiles… I loved this part of the day!!
Q- What detail did you love or treasure the most about your wedding? A- I loved my bouquet and I loved our linens. I found the linens through a wedding posted on Pinterest with a very similar color scheme and I knew they would tie everything together.
Q- What was your inspiration behind your wedding? A- The biggest inspiration for our wedding came from the venue and ceremony site’s natural colors (blues from the ocean, pinks from sunset, greenery from the outdoors, etc) and generally wanting our wedding to feel like a party with all of our best friends.
Sunset ceremonies at the Ocean Cliff…. yes yes yes! Deniz also transformed her gown a bit by adding the most elegant sleeves to her dress. She was beyond stunning!
Q-If you could pick one moment from your entire day to be your favorite, what would it be? A- The best moment of the day was seeing Mike at the end of the aisle, and looking right at him. In that moment it was just us and everything else (worrying about finding time to talk with everyone, nerves, hoping not to trip while walking down the aisle) melted away.

I mean… wow. This view as you take a few moments alone together for the first time as husband and wife…. This is what they call a perfect moment! That liiiiiiiightttt!!!! Cocktail hour in the Safari tent is my favorite at the Ocean Cliff! Such a beautiful spot underneath the twinkling lights overlooking the ocean! Q- What advice would you offer to our future brides and grooms? A- This is your day and your day only. One of the best pieces of advice I got on our big day came from Mike’s sister Jill when I started to feel on edge about what our guests would think of everything. She told me that our wedding day was about Mike and I and nobody else and at the end of the day whatever happens I would be marrying my best friend. She was right!
