Katie and Jon requested a winter engagement back in the summer and I could not have been more excited! Pros to a winter engagement session – your photographer will likely be able to be far more flexible with dates, there won’t be nearly as many people honking at you in downtown Bristol or Newport, locations will be less congested, and you can send out a two-for-one Save the Date AND Christmas card. 🙂 My husband jokes that this is really why we had all of our children just before Christmas… no need for an extra stamp for that birth announcement. I joke, but really, winter engagement shoots are a fabulous idea and I had a great time convincing Jon that taking pictures actually can make for a fun afternoon haha. I had a blast with these two and am excited to work with them again next year for their waterside wedding at the Bohlin!
For this shoot, Katie requested that we shoot at the very cool IRYS. The grounds are just fun and include cool boats everywhere, beautiful architecture and an array of beautiful colors and textures. We ended our session at the always gorgeous Ocean Drive and the wind was the calmest I think I’ve ever seen it out on those rocks. Such a fun day! Here are some of my favorites… I had so many!
