2011 was a great year for Sarah Pudlo Photography & Co!! I never imagined we would grow as much as we did in just 12 short months. I truly feel as though I have been given an incredible opportunity to work with some of the most amazing clients imaginable. So many of you have become so much more than just clients as you have let me into your lives with your stories and memory making. I am so blessed…
Janruary saw the official launch of our business with our new studio space. Initially, my passion lied in photographing wee little ones… and I thought that would be where I stayed for the next few years. However, we were privileged to capture a few weddings in the beginning of the year for some friends who believed in my skill enough to trust me with their wedding… and I fell in love with capturing a couples big day. We now have over a dozen weddings booked for 2012 and a half dozen set to go for 2013… and this is just the start! Don’t get me wrong, we still love newborns and have lots of little ones also scheduled to arrive already for 2012!
After having had a few requests for a photo booth set-up from some of our brides, we expanded our business to include the most amazing video/photo booth you have ever seen… my brilliant husband engineered, built, and brought my vision to life. We named our new branch Rock Your Booth (www.rockyourbooth.com) because, well, it just rocks. We are now one of the only photo booth businesses in Massachusetts to offer brides a video messaging system where guests can record greetings for the happy couple. It is so stinking cool and we are very proud!
Most meaningful to me has been posting my Project Mom blogs over the course of 2011. Project Mom was my way of keeping my child at the center of my camera. While I wish I would have posted more consistently and frequently, I can’t speak enough about the value of having a record of my little man’s first year on film. One of the things I love about my job is that I am able to give parents a memory, an image, a moment frozen in time that will last for years to come. There were many weeks where I poured myself into this business, staying up into the wee hours of the evening to work on client galleries and orders. But there were days where I forced myself to stop amidst all of the business to take the time to photograph MY own baby. My family is the most important thing in my life and really the driving force behind the start of this company. I am so glad that I was able to blog about my little man throughout 2011! Project Mom will continue in 2012 and hopefully for many more years to come (and maybe even a few more babies…)!
I refused to limit myself for this post. Initially I thought I would pick a top 10… then it turned into a top 20… in the end, I have settled on a top 49 hahaha. And now, in no particular order, here are my favorite images from 2011!
