Last month, two of our dearest friends married each other at the Mystic Marriott in Groton, CT and we were so completely thrilled when they asked us to be apart of their celebration! My husband and brother-in-law were apart of the wedding party and I was honored when Jay and Kimmy asked me to photograph the day! The celebration began the night before, as 35 of us helped pack out a theatre for a showing of the newest Star Wars film after the rehearsal dinner. Somehow, these two “trekkies” unknowingly planned their wedding for opening weekend. The film saga continued to infuse itself into the wedding throughout the weekend as the couple entered their reception with a full on lightsaber tunnel made by their bridal party! Among other themes and details were all things Christmas, the best hot chocolate bar that ever was, and a Jimmy Fallon cut out that made itself into half of my reception shots. This is the only couple I know that could pull off such a beautiful and elegant affair with all of the above elements incorporated…. really!
Kimmy and Jay, I am beyond happy to have witnessed and been part of your wedding celebration. The joy there was palpable! I am not sure if there ever was two people more compatible than you. Your mutual love for the same things, your respect for each other, your love for Jesus… you are two of our favorite people to be around! I had a conversation with someone at the reception, just after your cake exchange (which was oh so entertaining) and we talked about what your lives were going to look like in 50 years. The word “adventure” seemed to be the mutual response. Together, you two will be on the most fun adventure together! I can’t wait to see all that it entails! We love you!
\…my brother in law felt left out! ha!
It was pretty cold. Good thing our bride was so tough…
Rock Your Booth was SO much fun as always… Jimmy Fallon was clearly having a good time.
I was too busy to dance with my husband, so this happened…
