Sarah and Michael’s Bristol RI wedding at Blithewold Mansion was a dream to photograph last month. We are swooning over the beautiful details and these two were just so much fun! Read on to learn more about the couples wedding inspirations, advice, and favorite moments!
Q- What was the inspiration behind your wedding details?
A- We were most inspired by the beautiful grounds and scenery at Blithewold. We decorated with lots of spring blooms and our color palette included shades of pink, soft blue, and metallics. We were going for a timeless and classically elegant feel, but also mixed in some touches of New England flair and Southern charm since I grew up in Rhode Island and we live in Tennessee.
Q-If you could pick one moment from your entire day to be your favorite, what would it be?
A-The entire ceremony was our favorite part of the day because everything was so meaningful and beautiful ― from the church to the music and the company. But if we had to pick one specific moment, it would be exchanging our wedding vows. That is, after all, the most important part of the day and the reason for the celebration.
Q-What detail did you love or treasure the most about your wedding?
A- I was really into the details, so it is hard to pick just one. I loved my bouquet and that it was wrapped in lace from a headpiece that my mother wore on her wedding day. Another favorite was our signature drink because it is a drink that we shared on our first date and it ended up being a huge hit with our guests. We had a coordinating cocktail napkin too! Sarah had a good number of close college friends that she wanted to include as part of the big day, so she had them wear coordinating dresses in hues of blue and had them carry beautiful pink bouquets! Love! Q- Would you change anything if you could?
A- No. So much time and thought was put into every aspect of the day that it is hard to think about changing anything. We even lucked out with the weather too!
Q- What advice would you offer to our future brides and grooms?
A- Choose vendors that you truly love and bond with. Don’t be afraid to ask them for advice while you are wedding planning. Some of the best advice we received came directly from our vendors.
