Colby & Dustin Married | The Bohlin, Newport RI

Colby and Dustin have these amazing smiles and I will never forget how HAPPY they were the entire day! Watching them was pure sweetness. Dustin’s reaction during the first look and his complete admiration for his bride was adorable.

When I first book a couple, I send out an initial questionnaire with lots of fun questions that allows me to get to know them a bit better. It is one of my favorite parts of the planning process! In Dustin and Colby’s questionnaire back from last year, I asked them what they were most excited about in the planning of their wedding. I smiled as I recently re-read what they wrote. The day was such a great one and I think their wedding vision came to life just as they had hoped. Here is what they said:

“What we’re excited for about the wedding: – The location is special to us, but especially Colby and her family. Newport has a lot of dramatic scenery that we’re excited to enjoy and share with our friends and family. We like the quaint-ness of the town itself… narrow streets, the colonial New England vibe right in the harbor… For the wedding itself, we’re excited for some of the unique and local food options (the oyster bar, the Del’s Lemonade Stand, Colby’s sister’s ice cream featured – called ‘Minus the Moo’). We’re also excited for the laid back vibe – we’re curating music and DIYing a lot of the decor. The Bohlin is simple but tasteful. We really want people – our friends and family – to be the focus, so there will be relatively little frills and pomp… just the way we like it.”

Let’s begin with that special moment where Dustin and Colby saw each other for the first time on their wedding. It was the sweetest! And if you love your dog as much as Colby and Dustin do, you’ll appreciate that they incorporated their cute pup into the first look!

Dustin kept kissing Colby on the head and it was adorable. I adore these shots we took on Bellevue Ave!

These arrangements by Fig and Sqill were perfection. Seriously. The bronze leaves were such a beautiful element to tie in the rest of the table decor to the florals.
