My husband and I had SO much fun hanging out with Caite and Volkan in the Big Apple last week!

Caite and Volkan are highschool sweethearts! Their engagement began last year on the ice at Rockefeller Center, which held special meaning to Caite, who has skated for some time and would perform a routine there every year on the Today show with her team. Since the rink had such meaning and contained such fond memories, Volkan thought it only appropriate to make this the place where he popped the big question. Super romantic and so sweet. We decided to start off our session on the ice (which was quite busy… we even spotted gold medalist Tara Lipinski skating on the ice that day!). I bravely fought my way through the crowds to earn spots around the railing of the rink where I could capture the two. I loved watching Volkan spin Caite again and again as the two danced around the crowds…

After spending some time at Rockefeller Center, we walked over to Central Park which was the perfect backdrop for some great engagement portraits. Central Park was just beautiful!

After the sun started to sink, we decided to head back to the big city scene and walk to time square….

I’m pretty sure this was the funniest moment all day…

Volkan felt the need to retaliate…

 

The night ended with a fabulous visit to Marigold’s bakery for the most UNbeilivable red velvet cheesecake I have ever had. We said our goodbyes just before my husband and I headed back to Penn Station to catch our ride home. As we boarded our train, we couldn’t help but chat about how we felt as though we had spent the day hanging out in the city with two old friends. Caite and Volkan, we had so much fun hanging out with you in New York city and are beyond excited for your upcoming Newport wedding this summer!
