Sooooo… It has come to my attention that many of my clients have not yet heard our big news! In case you haven’t seen me in action in the last few months or haven’t caught some of the hints in our last few posts, we are excited to announce that we are due to grow our family with our 3rd kiddo this month! We are beyond excited and are ready for a totally different kind of adventure… a girl! After raising two energetic, dinosaur enthusiasts, mud loving, superhero fanatic little boys, we frankly aren’t sure what this new territory is going to look like. We imagine it will consist of a few less wrestling matches, perhaps some play tea sets and more pink. Perhaps not. 🙂 Whatever this new season brings, we and the boys are ready to love on this sweet girl like crazy!

To be real, we didn’t share our big news for a while this time around. We had always hoped to grow our family and prayed that God would allow us the blessing of a little one again. Last year brought some discouraging days with miscarriage and difficulty conceiving for some time, something we hadn’t experienced with our first two. So we prayed and waited and came to peace with the fact that our plans may look different than what God’s plan for our family would be. When we found out we were pregnant with this precious girl, we were so beyond excited. But there was also a caution that came along with it that any family who has experienced miscarriage would understand.

In this same season, we have walked with friends who had experienced miscarriage as well… some, more difficult situations than ours. And so the beginning of our pregnancy became a time of quiet, cautionary, rejoicing and something we wanted to be particularly sensitive about. It was a new territory I hadn’t yet walked through as a woman, but one that has taught me so much. I have been reminded of the following. Life is a precious gift. Share your struggles with others because we weren’t meant to do this alone. Knowing how to support others who are walking through struggles you’ve seen is sometimes more important than talking about yourself. And most importantly, trusting a God who loves you more than you could ever understand in these seasons is key. Trusting that he can take any difficult circumstance life brings and use it to make you stronger and more refined is everything.

I didn’t want this season of life to go by without documenting our family. So we packed up the kids, and headed over to the downtown scene in Bristol, RI, one of my favorite areas! The plan was to get some ice cream cones with the boys to keep them motivated, but we just so happened to be visiting town the day after Memorial Day weekend and all of my favorite ice cream locations seemed to have closed up for the season. So we found some fabulous gelato and did our best to keep the kids in one spot long enough to document what it really looks like to eat ice cream with this crew. I’m about 30 weeks along in these shots! We definitely owe a debt of gratitude to our amazing friend and partner Tiffany who had the patience to endure our energetic crew. Photographers’ kids are of course the trickiest…

We will be out on maternity leave starting the second week of November and will do our best to return inquiries and emails as we are able to in the weeks to come.  A HUGE thank you to all of my amazing clients who have been so understanding, extra patient, and to all of those gentleman who have refused to let me carry my own camera bags over these last few weeks! Ha! You have made these last months easier than I had anticipated and I feel so lucky to be working with the most amazing clients in all of Rhode Island and Southeast Mass!

We are thankful. We are blessed!
