It is always an honor to photograph the wedding of a fellow photographer! When Erin first contacted me, I was thrilled to work with such a talented artist like herself and new that her creative eye would play into all of the fun details that the couple had in their wedding celebration. I’ve had such a fun time working with her and Matt over the last year! The two decided on a backyard wedding celebration at the property of one of their family members. My favorite part of their celebration was just how much family collaboration went into it! The location, all of the handmade chairs from Matt’s Dad, all of the gorgeous summer blooms grown by Matt’s family, the incredible craft beer made by Matt and Erin’s close friends, the classic truck the couple used as their getaway car that belonged to a family friend, and of course the wedding cake made by Erin’s grandmother- I love that these two focused on what really matters as they brought their two lives together!
Q– What was the inspiration behind your wedding? A– We wanted to create something simple yet beautiful! We started with the location and worked with our family and friends to design and create all of the special details which turned out more beautiful than we could ever have imagined.
Q- What detail did you love or treasure the most about your wedding? A-We will forever treasure every single hand made piece or written word our loved ones contributed to make our day so perfect. The ceremony performed by all family, the amazing toasts, the location, the flowers, the chairs, the pillows, the cake, the home brewed beer, the pint glasses, and so much more time and support we received in the last year.
Q- If you could pick one moment from your entire day to be your favorite, what would it be?
A- It’s so hard to pick one…We would have to say the ceremony and toasts were our favorite! Everything about the day was so perfect, but those were so special and personal to us!
Q- What advice would you offer to our future brides and grooms? A- I heard it a thousand times before we got married…but, there is no way to really prepare for how fast everything goes by! Enjoy every single moment!
